Mai sold doughnuts to customers and staff, and managed to raise a total of £328.40 to assist the local charity. This money will help provide continued care and support for adults with life limiting illnesses and support to their families and loved ones.

The cheque was delivered to Tash Gue, Corporate Fundraising Assistant from St Peter’s Hospice, who said: “Mai did an amazing job selling doughnuts, raising over £300. I was struck by how pro-active and engaged she was, especially considering she’d only been doing her apprenticeship for a few months. Our meeting was extra special as Mai’s grandmother was looked after by St Peter’s, so it was nice to be able to show her the improvements that have been made.”

Mai wanted to give back to St Peter’s Hospice for the great help they gave her and her family a few years ago. She’d been wanting to raise money for this charity for a long time.

Tash added: “It costs around £20,000 a day to run all the services we provide and therefore continued support from the community is crucial. Fundraising by companies and individuals, like Mai, make this all possible, so from all of us here at St Peter’s we would like to say a big thank you and I personally look forward to hopefully working further with Mai and GENeco in the future.”
